We had our annual vacation up to Willowcreek this past weekend. We went up early Sat and came home Tues. evening. It was sunny, which has been rare this summer. The kids loved swimming and jumping into the river. The boys swam across and jumped off the big rock. It was about 15 feet from the water. What daredevils I have!! Sis and Luke liked floating in the boat and catching tadpoles. We played lots of games, enjoyed the sun and even celebrated Jared's 10th birthday! It was a great way to end the summer!!

Humb. Co. Fair

Well after the success of the Redwood Acre Fair we all wanted in on the ribbon action! Kyler entered lego creations, Jared entered legos and art, I entered scrapbooks and Caitlyn entered sewing and baking. (we were out of town the day the flowers were due, dang) Everyone did great and we were all happy with our ribbons. Ky got a 2nd on legos. J got 2nd on legos, 1st & 3rd on art. Sis got mostly 1st and one 2nd place and a few special awards. Even I got 1st and 2nd on my entries! It was fun to see how we did. It was even more fun to see the animals, watch the shows, ride the rides and eat! We need to start planning for next year!!

Jared's Birthday Party!

Jared had his 10th birthday party today! He had a few friends over and we went mini golfing then back home to play, roast hot dogs, have cake and open gifts. The boys had a great time and everyone was very nice. It was nice to hang out with all the boys, most of them I taught last year! Happy Birthday Jared!

So, the Humboldt County fair is coming up and so sister is busy in the kitchen again. This morning we made lemon cake, chocolate cake and decorated a cake. (candy still to come...) but her crown jewel is again her cake decorating.....check it out....

We found this idea in our decorating cake book and knew we had to try it! Grandpa let us borrow a frame and the rest....well....I guess the judges will let us know! I'm pretty impressed!

Mini golf cake...

So, Jared is having his 10th birthday party tomorrow and we are going miniature golfing. He is so excited, and has had this day planned since last birthday (I'm not exaggerating) Well, together we designed a mini golf cake. Today we made it....and it is amazing. I am absolutely amazed! It came out so great, we are so proud of it! Jared said it is a "hole in one" as far as cakes go! How sweet is that!

Fruits of my labor...

So this weekend I picked some of the veggies out of the garden. They look rather beautiful all lined up, cleaned on my counter! We harvested blue, white and red potatoes, cilantro, carrots, peas, summer squash, yellow squash and some lettuce. Yum. All that and I'm still feeding those dang gophers!

Pick up at Camp

So, Luke and I picked up the kids from TLC Camp on Fri. They all had so much fun!! They all loved it and can't wait for next summer to go back. At pick up they did some worship songs and it was so neat to watch them enjoying themselves! They were all super dirty, bags of "stuff" filled the back of my car, and after about 15 min. they were all asleep driving home! So good to have my kids back! I can see how the Lord worked on each of them this past week. What a blessing they are!
